After a triumphant first year, the Ashburton Art Trail is back!
On the weekend of Friday 30th & Saturday 31st May and Sunday 1st June we are looking forward to welcoming back artists and artisans from last year’s trail along with some wonderful new creatives.
All 29 of those taking part in 21 venues across the town are rooted in the culture of Dartmoor where the vibrant town of Ashburton is nestled. Ashburton is fast becoming the most vibrant cultural destination in South Devon as innovative new galleries such as Field System, Jam, The Sherewood Gallery and the out-of-town Furzeleigh Living, compliment the thriving Arts Centre. Visit the newly opened Ashburton Artists and Artisans shop, bustling independent shops, antique shops, and delicatessens.
Plan your walk around the town with the helpful guide and map; stumble upon painters, ceramicists, printmakers, textile artists, jewellers, photographers, sculptors and those who defy definition in their studios, homes and shops.

This year we are very pleased to announce that Field Systems Gallery in West Street will become the hub for the Walking Trail with a large scale map and an item from every exhibitor on display.
We also welcome a collaboration with a new event the The Dartmoor Tors Festival. The Festival will explore and celebrate the culture of Dartmoor and the emotional connection with wild, ancient places. The main events for the Festival will take place from the 23rd to the 25th of May, but also continue through the week until the 30th of May, linking the two events together and enabling visitors to the town to get a unique insight into the History, Culture and Arts of Dartmoor. The Festival and the walking Trail is being well supported and promoted by the Ashburton Arts Centre and Field Systems Gallery.
